The Heart of Palisade: Why Small Businesses Matter This May

As May brings warmer weather and longer days to Palisade, there’s no better time to celebrate the small businesses that make our community unique. National Small Business Month reminds us that small businesses are truly the backbone of our local economy, creating jobs, preserving character, and building the vibrant community we love.

At Peach Street Distillers, we’re not just proud to be part of this small business ecosystem—we’re committed to supporting it in every way possible. When you choose local, you’re not just getting a great product; you’re investing in Palisade’s future, supporting local families, and helping maintain the unique character that makes our valley special.

Supporting the Local Economy: One Cocktail at a Time

Small businesses create a powerful economic ripple effect that benefits everyone in our community. Studies show that for every dollar spent at a local business like ours, significantly more of that money stays right here in Colorado, supporting other local businesses and creating a stronger, more resilient local economy.

At Peach Street Distillers, we’re committed to this cycle of local support:

Local Ingredient Sourcing
We source our grains from Colorado farms, utilize Palisade’s famous peaches and other local fruits, and partner with regional agricultural producers. This not only ensures the highest quality ingredients for our spirits but also supports our local farming community.

Supporting Other Local Businesses
We actively collaborate with other Palisade businesses, from our local food suppliers to our neighboring wineries. When you visit us, you’re experiencing the result of these strong local partnerships.

Community Investment
We believe in giving back to the community that supports us. From sponsoring local events to participating in community initiatives, we’re invested in making Palisade an even better place to live, work, and visit.

Patio Season is Here: Fresh Cocktails, Fresh Local Ingredients

May is the perfect time to enjoy our expanded patio space, where you can savor fresh, local cocktails while taking in the beautiful Colorado scenery. Our spring menu celebrates the best of local flavors and seasonal ingredients.

Garden-Fresh Cocktails
Our May cocktail lineup features fresh, fruity, and herbaceous combinations that capture the essence of spring such as:

  • Strawberry Basil Margarita – Bright, fruity, with citrus and basil, refreshing and satisfying on a hot Palisade afternoon.
  • Blackberry Coconut Mojito: Bursting with blackberry flavor, cooled off with creme de coconut, and brought to life with our house-made Mojito mix.
  • Copper Cabra: Goat Vodka, ginger beer, and lime served in a copper mug. Designed to dance on your tongue and quench your thirst.

Local Spirits, Local Flavors
Each of these cocktails showcases the power of local ingredients. Our Jack & Jenny pear gin celebrates Palisade’s agricultural heritage, while our fresh herbs and citrus come from regional growers. When you sip one of our spring cocktails, you’re experiencing the true taste of Colorado’s Grand Valley.
